The Hundred Parishes Society

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION NOTES

1: Membership conditions.
(a) The annual membership subscription of £10 covers a family or an organisation (including an authority or a business). The named individual will receive notices, etc and be entitled to attend and vote at meetings. An organisation may appoint an alternative representative for meetings.
(b) The Hundred Parishes Society (“the Society”) is constituted as a company limited by guarantee. Society members are also members of the company. The nature of a company limited by guarantee is that the liability of each member is limited to a maximum contribution, in this case £10, that is guaranteed by the member and may be called upon in the event of the company becoming insolvent. This is in addition to any subscriptions that have already been paid. The nominated member of the family will be registered as the member of the company and will therefore be giving this guarantee.
(c) Your membership subscription will last for a year, with renewal due on the anniversary of the date of applying for membership.

2: Privacy and data protection.
By completing this application you consent to the processing of your personal information by the Society for the purposes of establishing and maintaining membership and for providing member services including, where appropriate, claiming tax relief under the Gift Aid scheme, processing debit or credit card payments and initiating direct debits. The Society will not disclose this information to any other person or organisation except in connection with these purposes. If you do not want the Society to contact you about the Society’s benefits, services or products, or if you have any query about the use that will be made of your data, please email hundredparishes@btinternet.com or write to the Secretary, The Hundred Parishes Society, 2 Greenfields, Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex CM24 8AH.

3: Gift Aid.
Please complete the Gift Aid declaration if you are an individual taxpayer (not an organisation). This enables the Society to claim back 25% of the value of your subscriptions and donations from HM Revenue & Customs at no extra cost to you. Gift Aid applies if you will pay Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year that is at least equal to the total amount of tax that all charities or Community Sports Clubs that you donate to will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year. Council Tax and VAT do not count. If you are not a taxpayer, please do not complete this section. If you cease to pay tax please inform the Society. If you pay tax at a higher rate you can claim further tax relief from HM Revenue & Customs through a self-assessment form.

4: Direct Debit Guarantee
This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits. If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, the Hundred Parishes Society (“the Society”) will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request the Society to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request. If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by the Society or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society. If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the Society asks you to. You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify the Society.
